Method 1: Use rubbing alcohol

Items required: A dull knife, rubbing alcohol, and a clean white cloth

This is recommended for less troublesome chocolate stains. You can also use liquid dish soap if you don’t have to rub alcohol.

1. You can try to blot the chocolate with cold water or to chill it a little bit, add an ice cube. Scrape the chocolate with a dull knife.
2. Rub alcohol on a clean, white cloth.
3. Blot the stain gently. Do not rub too hard.
4. As needed, change the clothes. The entire chocolate stains should be transferred to the cloth.
5. Alternate scraping or blotting if this fails to help. After you have repeated the steps several times, move on to the next step.

Method 2: Use ammonia

Items required: Ammonia, lukewarm, clean white cloth, and a dull knife.

This is a good method for tough stains.

Warning or Precaution: Please remember this method should not be used on wool carpets. They will be damaged by ammonia.

1. Start by wiping the chocolate off with a damp cloth. You can scrape the chocolate off with a dull knife if it is too dry.
2. Get your cleaning gloves on and open the window.
3. Two tablespoons of ammonia mixed with one cup of lukewarm tap water. The water should not be too hot.
4. In the mixture, soak a white towel or cloth.
5. Do a safety checkon the hidden carpet.
6. Blot the stain several times. Keep the cloth down for at least one minute. The ammonia should dissolve the chocolate. Continue blotting.
7. As needed, change the towel.
8. You might need to repeat these steps several times.

Method 3: Use hydrogen peroxide & ammonia

Items required: Ammonia and 3% hydrogen peroxide. Water, a dull knife. Cleaning gloves. Spray bottle. Sponge. Vacuum cleaner.

This method will remove even the most stubborn stains.

Warning or Precaution: Do NOT use ammonia on wool carpets, and don’t use hydrogen peroxide if you have dark carpets. Take care when using a knife to scrape away debris.

1. Use a damp towel that has been soaked in cold water to blot out all chocolate. You can also use a butter knife to scrape the chocolate.
2. You will need to put on your cleaning gloves and keep the window open throughout the process.
3. Mix 1/2 cup 3% hydrogen peroxide and 1 teaspoon ammonia.
4. Spray the mixture on the chocolate stains. If you prefer, you can also use a sponge.
5. The stain should not be saturated but enough to allow the solution to penetrate the pad. Allow it to rest for 20 minutes.
6. Use cold water or club soda to rinse thoroughly. Use a paper towel or a clean cloth to remove any moisture.
7. Allow the area to dry. To raise the fibers, vacuum the carpet after it has dried.

Method 4: Use borax

Items required: Borax and cold water, a toothbrush (or a clean cloth), a vacuum cleaner, and gloves.

Warning or Precaution: Although this method is safe for all stains. You should still conduct safety testing.

1. You can either scrape off dried chocolate or use a damp cloth to blot out soft chocolate. Before you start scraping, you can apply an ice cube.
2. Grab your gloves and get out the cleaning supplies.
3. Borax and water should be combined to make a paste. The consistency should be similar to toothpaste.
4. Use a toothbrush to apply the mixture.
5. Incorporate it slowly into the fibers.
6. Allow it to air dry completely. All paste should be swept up.
7. Blot any traces with a damp cloth, then dry it off with cold water.
